We would like to introduce you to Mrs. Tirevold who teaches math at the Jr./Sr. High. She has been with the district for 20 years.
Here is some information for you to get to know her.
Family: “My husband and I have a 6 year old daughter. I also have 8 nieces and nephews.”
Mrs. Tirevold’s favorite food is pizza and pasta and her favorite color is green. In her free time, she enjoys baking, crafting and spending time with her daughter, nieces and nephews.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those impacted by the recent tragedy over the weekend. Beecher City CUSD #20 will have a team of counselors available tomorrow to support our students and staff.

Family: “I have been married to my beautiful wife, Morgan, for the past 5 years. We have lived in Strasburg, IL during that time. We have two boys, Sonny, who is 3, and Tucker who was born on July 4th, 2023. “
Mr. White’s favorite food is any BBQ, his favorite color is mint green, and his favorite sports teams are The St. Louis Cardinals, The St. Louis Blues, and The Green Bay Packers. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf (“Even though I am not very good at it and tend to get angry.”)

Here is some information for you to get to know her.
Family: “My husband, Dan, and I have been married for 31 years. We have two children. Abby is 26. She lives in Portland, Oregon. She is an architect. Our son, Evan, is 24 and lives in Palatine, Illinois. He is a computer software engineer.”
Mrs. Peterson’s favorite color is blue, her favorite musician is Rob Thomas, and her favorite sports team is the Cardinals. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with family at the beach.

A few high school students were given the opportunity to experience hands on learning at the Construction Trades Expo in Mattoon this past Wednesday. Students met with potential employers and heard about the benefits of career and technical education. Thank you to Eastern Illinois Education for Employment System (EIEFES) for this experience and others throughout the school year.







Mrs. Peterson's class had fun in math class by doing a gallery walk. Problems were placed around the room for students to complete for a test review.




Mr. Brown's leadership class visited Miss Fearday's classroom and helped with double facts.




Mrs. Stuckemeyer's Fourth Grade Class used their Grow Tower Greens to have a salad party.



The Kindergarten Classes took a field trip today. They visited Harmony Playground and the Effingham Public Library.

We would like to introduce you to Mr. Hammer who teaches history at the Jr/ Sr High school. He has been with the district for 26 years.
Here is some information for you to get to know him.
Family: “Single. Have a Dog named Eli.”
Mr. Hammer’s favorite food is biscuits and gravy, his favorite color is green, his favorite music is hard rock, and his favorite sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his free time, he enjoys collecting baseball cards, lifting weights, and volunteering at the Humane Society.

We would like to introduce you to Mrs. Wachtel who teaches Fifth Grade. She has been with the district for 30 years.
Here is some information for you to get to know her.
Family:“My husband Todd graduated from BCHS in 1989 and University of Illinois in 1993. He is a farmer. We just celebrated our 30th anniversary in August. My 25 year old son, Connor, works at BCHS where he graduated from in 2016. He also graduated from the U of I in 2021. We have a dog named Lucy who is an excited Saint Bernard.”
Mrs. Wachtel’s favorite color is red, her favorite music is 80’s, and her favorite sports team is the Illini, Cubs, Bulls, and Bears. In her free time, she enjoys reading and boating.

The Grandparent's Day breakfast was a huge success. A special thanks to the National Honor Society members for their help.
