Staff Spotlight: We would like to introduce you to Mrs. Summers who teaches Kindergarten at the Grade School. She has been with the district for 4 years. Here is some information for you to get to know her. Family: “I am married to Aaron who is a graduate of Beecher City. I have two children, Jarret and Marissa. Jarret was a 2012 graduate of Beecher City and Marissa will graduate this year. I also have a daughter-in-law, Kylie. She and my son Jarret live near Peoria.” Mrs. Summers's favorite food is candied carrots or sweet potato fries, her favorite color is synergy green or black, and she enjoys listening to all kinds of music. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, decorating, Jeep cruising, side by side rides, and shopping. We’re glad to have you on our team!

Staff Spotlight: We would like to introduce you to Mr. Tarr who teaches Industrial Arts classes at the Jr./Sr High School. He has been with the district for 6 years. Here is some information for you to get to know him. Mr. Tarr's favorite food is a tie between a Ribeye hot off the grill and fried crappie, his favorite color is a three way tie- National Blue and Corn Gold (FFA) and Hunter Orange, his favorite music is late 80's early 90's country, but he also enjoys a good headbanger from 70's and 80's rock.(AC/DC), and his favorite sports team is the CHBC Bobcats. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing. We’re glad to have you on our team!

Homecoming week starts Monday. Here is the schedule for the dress up days. Monday is Rockstar Day (wear the shirt of your favorite band or singer). Tuesday is Tacky Tourist Day. Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday. Thursday is Anything But a Backpack (bring something out of the ordinary to carry your books in), and Friday is Bobcat Apparel Day.

Staff Spotlight: We would like to introduce you to Mr. Torbeck who teaches science classes at the Jr./Sr High School. He has been with the district for 6 years. Here is some information for you to get to know him. Family: “I have a wife, Jennifer, that I have been married to for 24 years this December. She works at Effingham Tools and Machinery in Effingham. My daughter Alexis is 23. She is a RN at the Lutheran Care Center in Effingham. Evelyn is getting ready to graduate here at BCHS and go to Lakeland college to also become a RN. We are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Augsburg, Illinois.” Mr. Torbeck's favorite food is barbeque- chicken, turkey and brisket and his favorite sports teams are the St. Louis Blues and the St. Louis Cardinals. In his free time, he enjoys bowling, going to concerts and hockey games, sim racing on the computer and trying to play guitar. We’re glad to have you on our team!

Tomorrow the senior class is having a blood drive from 1-6 PM at the high school. The bus will be in the back of the school. If you plan on donating, please make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome. Mention a senior's name, and they will be entered in a drawing. The goal is 20 donors and the senior class will receive a donation to go towards the senior trip.
